A decision was made by the London Councils’ Transport and Environment Committee on 7 February 2008 to relocate the Parking And Traffic Appeals Service away from New Zealand House rather than seek a new lease at that property.
The new location for the PATAS hearing centre was approved in principle by London Councils’ Transport and Environment Sub Committee on 11 September 2008 and will be at:
Angel Square Upper Ground Floor Block 2 London EC1V INY
The move is likely to take place towards the end of January 2009 and we will be issuing a newsletter next month to provide more detailed information. Where personal hearings have been scheduled to be heard at New Zealand House after the date of the move, we will notify all parties of the new date and time of the hearing in due course.
The latest London statistics on parking adjudication appeals show Westminster not contesting 60% & losing 84% of the total.
They have been ecclipsed slightly by
Islington not contesting 62% / losing 90% of total
Southwark not contesting 46% / losing 93%
The London average not contested is 45% and on average London councils lose 73% of adjudications.
Whilst
this represents less than 1% of all PCNs issued those cases ought to be
100% watertight or the councils risk the public perceiving due
diligence has not been properly applied in considering representations
prior to reaching adjudication.
